Problem: People with autism can often have problems identifying emotions, especially when communicating with others. With COVID-19 moving much of communication to online calls, through Zoom, Skype, and a variety of other video service tools, that can make identification of emotions even more difficult.

Solution: By creating a Chrome extension powered by Azure Functions, the extension would take a Screenshot of a Zoom call and analyze it through Microsoft’s Face API, which would then give back to users a rundown of the primary emotions being displayed in the person’s face. In doing so, people with autism would be offered a helpful idea or confirmation of the emotions being communicated.
